Our Plans
We are seeking to rebuild the WLPS site for the safe storage, quality control checking and
distribution of aviation fuel (also known as kerosene).
It is our intention to rebuild the WLPS site so it is able to handle the same capacities for
aviation fuel storage, quality control checking and distribution as before the incident in December 2005
- albeit in a slightly different configuration of storage tanks to take into account the latest design,
operations and safety codes.
In addition, our proposals will incorporate up-to-date specialist advice on safety equipment,
fire-fighting systems and tertiary containment facilities and our plans will be supported with
an Environmental Impact Assessment.
Our plans are yet to be submitted to the relevant planning authorities, however full details
will be made available through both Dacorum Borough Council
and St Albans City and District Council in due course.
